Welcome to my site. I am a writer based in Long Beach, California.  I am the author of a novella based on Bram Stoker's Dracula, titled, Sword of the Undead.  I have also written a personal finance book, titled, $10 a Day Towards, $1,000,000, and recently published  a book, titled,  Toe Up to 10K, which is about my recovery from spinal cord injury.

My interests are eclectic, so under the "My Interests" tab, topics will be separated.  I know writers are expected to specialize in a particular type or genre, but although there are genres and topics I prefer, I would rather not be limited.  Not to compare myself to acting greats, but James Cagney did not make only gangster flicks, nor did John Wayne make only Westerns, so why should authors do the same?

In June, 2012, I came down with meningitis, and as a result, temporarily loss the use of my legs.  I wasn't guaranteed to walk again, although doctors did think that I would walk well enough after two years.  I reached that point of "well enough"  in around a year, and although I do not walk as smoothly as I did when I became ill, the visual difference is nil.  My running speed has not yet returned, but I am confident that I will be able to run as well as I did before the illness.  I wrote a book about my recovery titled, Toe Up to 10K.  The book won a Gold Medal in the 2015 Readers' Favorite Book Awards in the category, non-fiction inspirational.

My first novella, Sword of the Undead, is currently out of print, in physical form. I re-titled it and will be re-issuing it in ebook format.  The new title of the book is Samurai Vampire, Book II: Sword of the Undead.  The price of the book will be $1.99, which is lower than the price for the current version. The tentative date for this release is September 1, 2016.

Guest Posted for Invacare's SCI blog, Roll Revolution

One of the necessary evils of being a writer is to engage in "shameless self-promotion." But, as someone who survived a spinal cord injury (SCI), and experienced a significant recovery, I've always been forward to sharing my story(ies).

Recently, Invacare, a leader in the medical equipment industry (especially pertinent for people with SCI) started a blog called Roll Revolution. It focuses on helping people deal with SCI.

And, they asked me to write a guest post for the blog. Needless to say, I was stoked…Read more

Pennant Race Prediction - Dodgers Trade Puig?

The Dodgers called up another outfielder from the minors.  But the Dodgers have plenty of outfielders already, albeit, injured.  But still, they have plenty of players who can fill in until those players (namely Joc Pederson) come back.

Although there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel with the starting rotation, which will help with the currently overworked bullpen, you can never have too much pitching.

With the trading deadline coming up and the pennant races heating up, teams are already starting…Read more

Mr. Heavyfeet

Although I walk around pretty normally these days, it feels different. How different?  Being a big fan of the "old" comedy troupe, Kids in the Hall, here is a clip of how my legs feel on a normal day.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Better than You think

I wanted to post this prediction before the first game of the regular season especially since I seem to be going against the grain.

For years, since I was a child in the Ryan/Tanana days, I have predicted the Angels to win the world series whether I had really believed it or not.  But back in the days, even when the Angels hit below .240 as a team, I still believed, on day one of the regular season, that the Angels would be in first on October 1.

Even as a more rational adult, I probably still grade the…Read more
